i had a long chat with robbie last night about how much we miss real hip hop. the type of music that gave people a voice. the kind that when the beat dropped and the rapper started to tell their story, you felt a surge of emotions go through your body because you could really relate to what they were saying. we discussed how in order to create a beat for an artist, there had to be a connection between the producer and the artist, it had to fit with the theme of the album etc. now niggas just take the beats of other artists, and freestyle on it like nothing. making the value, creativity, uniqueness of the beat just go downnn. i hate how everyones like "lil wayne is so good, have you seen how many mixtapes he's come out with." but i live by this saying QUALITY > QUANITIY. so fucking what, most of his shit is trashed and he soundes zooted in all of it. blah - im out.
